What is Night to Shine?

Night to Shine, sponsored by the Tim Tebow Foundation, is an unforgettable prom night experience centered on God’s love, for people with special needs, ages 14 and older. Night to Shine will be hosted simultaneously by more than 650 churches from around the world for approximately 90,000 honored guests through the support of 175,000 volunteers.

Where is Night to Shine Coweta?

Night to Shine Coweta will be held at the SouthCrest Church in Newnan, GA.

When is Night to Shine Coweta?

The event is on Friday, February 9, 2024 from 6PM- 9PM. Guest check-in will begin at 5:15PM.

Where should I park?

Guests, please follow the signs on International Park to the front entrance of SouthCrest Church. When you pull in you will be guided by the parking team as to where to drop-off and park.

Is there a dress code?

For Guests, ladies may wear gowns/formal wear or nice dresses and gentlemen may wear a suit or tux.

Volunteers will be informed of their dress during Night to Shine training.

Do I have to wear a suit/tux or gown to the event?

No, but if you would like to wear formal wear and do not have a gown or a suit/tux, let us know on your registration form when you sign up and we will be happy to help.

Will a meal be served?

Yes, there will a light buffet dinner served for guests. Dinner will also be provided for parents and caregivers in the Respite Room.

If you are volunteering, a light dinner will be served at 4:30pm after you check in.

What if I have food aLlergies?

Gluten-free, dairy-free, and sugar-free options will be available.

WhEN IS VOLUNTEER TRAINING?

Volunteers are required to attend one training session in order to volunteer. During registration, volunteers are asked to select the date/time for the mandatory training session they plan to attend. We encourage volunteers to add their selection to their calendar. All training sessions will be held at SouthCrest Church in Newnan.

This year’s available training dates are:

  • Thursday, December 14 at 7:00pm (no childcare available)

  • Saturday, January 20 at 10:00am (no childcare available)

  • Sunday, February 4 at 3:30pm (childcare available for infants thru 3rd grade)

What is a Buddy?

A buddy is a volunteer that will be accompanying a guest throughout the evening. They are responsible for ensuring that their guest has a wonderful, safe, and comfortable experience during Night to Shine. Training is provided for all Buddies and volunteers.

What is the Respite Room?

The Respite Room is an area designed specifically to provide a restful space for parents and caregivers to enjoy refreshments and entertainment, as well as personal time or time to connect with other parents and caregivers. We want to honor the incredible parents, caregivers and family members for their lifetime commitment to caring for their loved ones with special needs.

What if the sounds/activities at the event become overwhelming?

We offer a Chill Area / Sensory Room where all guests are welcome to come enjoy a quiet and peaceful environment to rest and regroup.

Is this event Christian?

Night to Shine is open to anyone ages 14 and older with special needs and eligible volunteers. The event is a Christ-centered event hosted by Coweta County area churches.
